NWPA's little Silver Secret...

So… you’re in NWPA (Northwestern Pennsylvania) and you want a delightful meal with great service and a view that’s hard to beat?  You’d be missing out if you drove by this place!  Tone and I are frequent flyers… for good reason(s).  Silver Shores, on Conneaut Lake, is run by an awesome family that truly cares about customer service and appearance.  I’ve been in the F&B industry for longer than I choose to mention and Rob is by far one of the friendliest and most down to Earth owners I have met, and believe me, I have met A LOT!  Son Nolan inherited some great traits and seems to play a valuable role here. Which brings me to Shelby… AKA “ The Shelbster” to me, is one of the most charming bartenders you’ll ever meet.  In addition to her mad skills, she’s quite the smarty-pants and I mean that in a “brilliant sort of way!”  You see, to us, the individuals are the foundation and single-most important part of any organization.  You can have the most incredible property with awe inspiring views and a Michelin Star menu but if the people “don’t have it,” by this I mean that vibe, that focus and attentiveness where you genuinely “feel it” it’s just wasteful ~ that simple.

Now some final “food for thought:” their menu offers something for everyone from Friday & Saturday’s Prime Rib (always inquire ~ change happens!) to assorted seafood and pasta dishes. This is one of Tone’s favorite places to grab a burger.  Especially if “Smashed” is being offered!  Make a reservation for a table by the fireplace.  At the bar be sure to try their signature drink ~ The Zombie.  Of course, I’m partial because “SS” is one of the very few that offers perfectly chilled champagne splits for “Moi.”  Ok, not just for me but I like to think so…  In the warmer seasons there is a tiki bar and an outdoor patio with marina access for boats.  This place pretty much has it all!

Now for the bad news… they close every January 1st and do not re-open until the first week of March.  However,,, this time around there are some big renovations on the horizon!  So, that is definitely something to look forward to...  Be sure to check out their website:   https://silvershores.net/about
