Getting lost in Austintown...

So,,, we were trying to find a place recommended by my friend Rhonda...

Strange things happen on the road, don't they?  It never ceases to amaze me, this crazy thing called Fate.  Everything happens for one reason or another.  I've learned to stop asking, Why?  You may NEVER learn the reason why ~ just go along for the ride and see where it takes you.  At least that's my philosophy.

Back to Austintown...  on our way (or so we thought) to a really cool, laid back place, out of the way, with a stream running through, near covered bridges in Ohio... only to show up at a red brick, characterless building on a busy road across from a gas station that didn't open until 3pm?  It was Noon.  The song, "Help me Rhonda" pops into my head...  Well, it turns out ~ I had a blonde moment when taking mental notes and while we WERE in Austintown we should have been in Austinburg!

Not in the mood to drive onward and getting thirsty The Marine just gives me that "look."  I better find something and fast!  With a quick search for, "Breweries near Austintown," I was thrilled to see "Biker Brewhouse" pop up on my screen and see that it was only 10 minutes away.

Pulling up to this place was quite interesting.  As it turns out it's located inside and attached to the Youngstown Harley Davidson dealership.  Of course it is. We were escorted in through the rear entrance for "employees only" because Tone parked a million miles away behind the building and we had no idea how to get in!  Lost yet again... Once inside we were greeted and asked what we were here to "look at."  Without hesitation, Tone said, "the brewery."

We were led left to the rear of the dealership and into shangri-la!  This brewery is laid out!  There was an expansive outdoor patio with umbrella covered tables (did I mention what a beautiful, sunny afternoon it was?) all filled with people facing a respectful stage where the band Vintage Vinyl was playing and let me tell you how good they were... Really good!  People were dancing in the grass and dogs were everywhere.  If you're into pinball they have an impressive collection in which you may partake!  We were impressed with every beer we sampled ~ but most notable was their "Melon Balls."  Their version of a liquid watermelon Jolly Rancher.  Hey, don't knock it til you've tried it.  Light, refreshing and perfect for a sublime, sunny day!  On top of everything else there was a Rib Smokeout contest taking place!  Good Lord how do we always seem to "happen upon" the coolest freaking places?  This place is worth the Roadtrip ~ make it!

Moral to the story?  This is why it's SO important to, "Plan some spontaneity and let the magic begin!"
